Default new here, but looking to get into an lsx fbody

Lurked here quite a bit, and have been contemplating a couple lsx powered rides. One route is to get an fbody and work with it a bit, prior to attempting a swap into a g body I already have (79 malibu coupe). I have other cars to daily drive, so no need to get the most reliable fbody, or spend the $$ to get one cosmetically perfect (I tend to have much more fun with cars that I do not worry about it, cosmetically).

I think I would like to do a turboed ls car, with auto trans. Something street legal, but quick and nasty. Been looking at this car, somewhat local to me:

Thoughts?

for that price id pick up a ls1 fbody. but i dont know the price difference there vs here.

and this is coming from a 5.3 turbo on a ws6. I can definitely feel the difference off boost when i swap to a 5.3 from the ls1

turbo swap is straight forward and can be easily made if you know how to fabricate. or you can always buy a kit

definitely a good looking car, and the colors great to. i know lots of guys prefer a 5.3 for boost for whatever reason, but in my area 5500 is a good price for a 120k mile car..

that car looks like a good buy if it runs strong.

Looks Like a solid car for the price.

Thanks for the input guys. I have not looked at the car in person yet, but it still seems like one of the better local options that I have found.

Any particulars I should be looking for on it, say pre purchase?

thanks in advance...

Jeff

always drive something before you decide anything. just like any vehicle make sure its mechanically sound and has no leaks and the interior and paint wont be expensive to repair.

any major repairs id walk away from.
