I am trying to set up my Air Intake setup on my 50 Chevy Coupe/5.3.i know this is not the best location for the Filter but was wanting some input good or bad on it.The other question was whether or not having 2 -45 degree Elbows and reducing from 4" inlet at Throttle Body to 3" at filter will have a serious negative effect?

I would reverse it from the way you have it if anything.

Flowing air doesn't like bends. Think of it like water, those bends are making turbulence, turbulence in turn, lowers velocity. Do you have enough room under hood to get rid of that one 45?
