What engine in 2007 Chevy Express?
Pretty much just as the title says. I'm looking at buying a wrecked 2007 Chevy Express van tomorrow. It's 1 ton, automatic, 2WD, and a 'cutaway van' if that matters. I know it has a 6.0L as per the owner, but I'm coming up a little short on what exact engine this is? I'm pretty sure it's a Gen IV engine, but is it an L96? LQ4 or LQ9? LY6 or L76? What heads and pistons will this engine have? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Not sure if the 2007 is going to be an LY6 but if it is the heads will be either 0823 or 0821 or 5364 ( Those are rectangular port) LS3 style heads.
Edit: From what I found the LY6 was 2007 and newer so it's a very good possibility. MY LY6 was from a 2008 3/4 ton van. Just check the heads and if you have a smart phone look the casting number up.

Thanks. I tried to do more research into it as well, but I haven't come up with much. It's about 50/50 on if it's an LQ4 or LY6. I seem to have found that 2007 was the introductory year for the LY6 same as you, but the limited specs I've found online point to an LQ4. I can't seem to find what year the LQ4 was discontinued though. The van is crunched at the front which limited viewing access, and I won't have it in my yard until probably the 26th.
