What's more interesting about that 2008 thread is all the user names that are long gone from this site. You wonder what they are driving today.

Those are the two questions I get asked the most. They think a car is fast because of the speed that someone has gotten it too, not how quick it got there

Yep - Camaro.
And "flowmasters" - always in the plural.

I know I don't drive a popular car and not many people know much about it but I have a story that at least made me laugh. So I have a Nissan Juke as seen in my sig. I have the Nismo RS model which is like the Z06 model of Vettes (meaning different engine and looks). So I was getting food for lunch, sitting in the drive thru and this guy walks up to me. He asks if it is the Nismo model (which I know he clearly saw the badge), I say yes. Then he asks me if it has a turbo. I tell him yes. Little did he know, all Jukes come with a turbo. Its like asking an Evo or STI owner if it has a turbo. Import problems....

When I first bought my 2006 Cobalt SS/SC a guy at a gas station asked me if that was the new one with the Corvette engine. I was like no...its a 2.0 Supercharged 4cyl. He was like ah man that thing must own the streets! I was yea ok....and drove away.

This is kind of long, so bear with me. I was down at our local street races back in the early 2000s and a buddy and I were there with our LS1 Camaros. His was an SS and mine is a Z28. A kid in a gutted Civic was racing around everywhere and had just gotten slaughtered by my friend's SS. At the time, we both had similar mods (lid, catback) and both had trapped 110. We were a pretty good race.

The kid pulls up next to me to race, but first gets a little hesitant because he just got smashed by my buddy. The first thing he asks me was "is that an SS?" I responded "no, it's a Z28." It is dark, but pretty clearly labeled a Z28. He started laughing and was saying how glad he was it was a Z28 because, if it was the SS, he wouldn't have even bothered. We raced and I obliterated him of course. He stays with the crowd and falls back to talk to my buddy. He didn't know we were together at first, but he starts asking my friend questions about my car and how it was so fast and "are you sure it isn't an SS." My buddy just shrugged and said "factory freak I guess" and some other random things to really confuse the guy. He was cool about it and gave me a thumbs up, but it was funny how certain he was that my car was an SS after the beating.

I had someone ask if my '98 Grand Prix was good in bad weather since it's rear wheel drive...it does so well that it almost handles like a front wheel drive
