Default Cams for the LS3

Hey guys I'm new to this but wanted to know what cams you could put in the stock motor or what work would be required to be able to put a different cam in my LS3.

Well that depends on your ultimate goal.... bigger cams are harder tune and harder on your valvetrain.

Small cams can deliver big power with the great flowing heads you have.

Brian Tooley Racing... he did a small 224 cam that made over 550 horsepower on the engine dyno.

Smile

valve train upgrades are normal for most aftermarket cams.

your best bet is to get some kind of custom cam from a knowledgeable LS tuner.

Although not absolutely necessary, you may want to consider at least installing aftermarket headers while upgrading the cam. And it's ideal to upgrade the valve springs and pushrods at minimum with a cam upgrade.
