automatic trans noob. 4l80e questions. basic? turbo?
turbo 76mm lq4 goal of 700whp/trq tick stage 3 turbo cam.
3000lbs car
for the first time ever im considering an automatic trans. mainly because of budget. t56 is out of the question for my current build. $$$
Found a few complete 2000+ 4l80e with stock converter and all.
$500-600.
after doing some search i think i found everything i need for a swap.
1. 4l80e
2. transgo hd2
3. trans mount
4. stock 2003 lq4 flexplate
5. trans cooler
its a swap so im thinking of buying a truck harness with pcm that came with 6.0/4l80e and flash/tune for 5.3 so ill have it controlled with stock pcm.
my question is did I miss anything i need?
for 700trq(ive read it should handle this stock after the hd2
and whats the recommendation for converter?
this is 100% street with backroads fun. I was thinking of running stock covert for now and maybe later on switch since i would like the car running asap.
is there any budget converter for turbo application that doesnt hurt mpg too much?

Seems like a solid parts list.
I don't think you missed anything. As for converter, most of the big names make great 80e converters. PTC, Circle D, Yank will probably get the most votes. With a 6.0 you could probably get away with a single disk 2600-2800 converter.
