I have a different style camera, had good luck mourning it on top the passenger mirror, and luckily enuf, the bottom of it is actually a threaded hole, it screws right on where the antenna screws on, give a great angle. Here's a video shot from the antenna spot.

I have two of the low profile permanent mounts (most tracks don't like suction cups). One is top/center of windshield and the other top of rear glass. See vid.

If you have t-tops mounting on the passenger side t top works well. I've done it a few times. You can see your gauges an background noise minimal.

So I tried out some new mounting positions on the T-tops like you guys mentioned and the view is pretty clear up there. However the wind noise issue remains.

I've gotten a lot of questions on my external microphone setup and recently created a short guide on the parts I use. For a typical gopro 3 or 4 you can have awesome sound for an extra $50-60. Totally worth it if you ask me. And then you can put the camera at any location and angle and not worry about the wind noise.

Here is a comparison video of with external mic and without at over 100 mph. You will never want to do a video without the external mic again.

Nice! I actually bought an external mic not too long ago! I got the Sony ECM-CS3 mic and so far it gets the job done fairly well, however it has issues recording exhaust at low RPMs
