Default car cover recommendations

I am soon going to lose access to the garage I keep my TA in and will have to keep it outside now. Any recommendations on a quality car cover that will stand up to snow as well as harsh summer sun? Thanks all.

I had a covercraft years ago that I liked. Just make sure any cover is securely tied tight so the wind doesn't catch it and rub against the paint.

I just bought a Coverking Mosom Plus cover. The material is one of the best for the harsh outdoor conditions you describe. I bought it for temporary outdoor storage in ice or snow because both of the wife's cars have to be garaged in those conditions (her van because she uses it then and the G8 because I pamper it. So the Firebirds suffer).

I had a Coverking "autobody armor" on my Camaro that had to sit outside last winter. I think it is one of the most expensive covers you can buy. It did work well on keeping the car nearly spotless through rain, snow, etc. and did not trap moisture.

However, the downside is that it will cause swirl marks and marring due to wind and debris getting underneath and rubbing on the paint. Its great if you are just looking for protection from the elements though.

I'm left kind of unsure with your 50/50 review of the Autobody Armor!

Would you say it fit well and was worth the money?

What did you think of the materials it was made of?

How much was the swirls and marring a problem?

Thank you!

I have the NOAH cover and it is by far the best I have ever owned.

All I can say is that in an outside environment a car cover can cause more damage than anything. I had one on my car and I would always take it off after it rained or snowed - finally I just left it off unless it was sunny. That moisture gets trapped in there and when the heat dries it out, it can take your clearcoat/paint with it. Not to mention if debris get trapped in there and turns it into sandpaper on your finish.

What about one of those harbor freight pop-up garages? They aren't exactly the best thing for your neighbors to look at but maybe that's an option.

This is a very good point you make, one that I'm carefully thinking about. Unfortunately I have it stored 3 miles from my house at a Public Storage place, so I don't think I can put up a pop-up garage. Although, I may ask them! If it fits within the space I'm renting, maybe it's my business?

Other options are biting the bullet for the winter on $150-250 a month for inside storage, or I'm also wondering if ceramic coatings are that good? Maybe they offer superior protection to wax?
