Default Have to Jump Camaro Off...

Hey guys,

I'll make this short and sweet.

1) My 1998 Z28 will only start if jumped off. Runs great after being jumped, but even after driving around for 30 minutes, if I kill it and immediately try to restart it then it acts like the battery is dead.

2) new battery and alternator

3) gauge shows alternator is charging while running

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Have you checked the starter?

After sitting, does it make any sounds when you attempt to start it?

This seems most likely, or perhaps a bad new battery.

I'll double check my cables. Haven't checked the starter but it does seem like a bad new battery could also be the culprit. I'll get that tested as well and let you guys know. Thanks!

Could be a bad new alternator too. Are your lights flickering at all interior or exterior?
