Default Looking at buying a 408 stroker

Hey guys I am looking at buying a procharged 408 stroker. My question is how would I know if the motor has actually been stroked and forged? Can I take it to a shop and have them look at it? I was thinking about contacting the shop that built the motor, but the shop gets mixed reviews so I am not sure what to do.

Yes, you would have to somewhat tear it down to determine the bore and stroke. I would then want to see it myself or have someone you know and trust to verify.
I personally would pass (I don't like 408" builds. You can search for mixed reviews). Again, just my opinion, I would do a 370".

I don't think the owner would let me drop the pan and take the heads off of his car. The car has 230k on it but the stroker motor only has 25k on it and he says that the whole car was already gone through and lots of thing we're replaced. It's also procharged with a p1sc and he's willing to let it go for 10k. The car looks really clean from the pics. JY a website if so what is the full name because I don't know what JY stands for.

JY stands for Junk yard. What receipts does he have for the work done? If he did it himself, what receipts for the internals that he purchased?

he has all the receipts that the previous owner gave him for all the work done by calspeed as well as receipts for the port work that calspeed has done. Also has in invoice number for me to contact calspeed. He's got 230k on the and 25k on the motor it's also procharged and the body of the car is clean! Do you guys think 10k is a fair price?
