02 pcm in 98 fbody fuel gauge help?
Alright, last year I threw a turbo on the trans am. Everything is good and tuned except I still have not got my fuel gauge to work. I have looked through countless threads, everyone saying wires or float stuck or needs the van addition on pcm etc etc. I have gone to Complete Street performance in West Chester, PA. They did a fantastic job tuning the car and did the van swap on the pcm. Still no luck and I have no clue what else to think of.
It's now this year, I'll have the car out soon for spring weather and really would like to get this issue resolved and figure out why my gas gauge will not read since I did this pcm swap. Can someone please chime in who has a 98 that did this swap and ran into similar issues? I literally have asked everywhere. Thanks

Have you messed with the gauges at all? When I switched to trans am gauges the pot was bad on the fuel gauge, (mine was reading 3/4 the whole time), I switched out the pot from my old gauge and it's now working again. Might be something that simple.

When you say swapped the pump do you mean that you put a new pump in your fuel pump assembly or did you buy a new pump and assembly all together. Just thinking it may be those small wires for the float arm or the connection of the float arm to the contact points.

Can you check the tune?
You just need to enable PWM for the gauge, use 140.63 Hz for the PWM frequency, modify fuel tank volume and invert the tables.
When repining the harness, the fuel level output signal should also have been changed from red 36 to red 38.
Thats it.

98 ws6 swapped a 01 pcm by previous owner
this wAs a roller vehicle i bought off someone off here. 1998 ws6 trans am m6.
Current mods: ls3 swapped "texas speed stage 3 lsa supercharger kit
stage3 t56
99 fuel tank assembly with racetonix fuel pump and harness
01 pcm "all previous repinning was supposebly done by previous owner"
Due to tunning purposes and because this Was a turbo car. I got my motor/setup completly installed in it. Seems like the fuel guage reading is not accurate since it stays half way down the middle and goes to full when ignition is on, "tuned by frost" so all necessary software tweeks have been done and ready to go. The guy at frost tunning told me i might need to mess with the harness....
*also fuel pump not coming on at all.. will post another thread on that issue later

Would love to see the fuel section. LT1Parts@live.com if you have the time to shoot over a file. Thanks!

No it doesn't. You just need to correct fuel gauge settings. The segment swap was done back in the days,, when HP Tuners was unable to change the gauge settings. Doing the segment swap, it changes all the fuel gauge settings,, that all needs to be corrected,, so you're better off just fixing the PWM output issue

RGSS, with your 98 using the 411, did you have any issues with the clutch pedal position sensor after the swap? I'm getting ready to do the swap myself and have read there will be a P0704 code if the clutch pedal position sensor is not wired in. Problem is, I don't know how to wire it in.
