Default Would you trade a 96 V6 camaro for a 89 corvette?

Camaro is in great condition, 60K miles
Corvette needs seat covers and a rear speaker.

Assuming there is nothing wrong with either car, is it a fair trade?

the vette actually makes a little more power (245HP) if it were me i would sell the v6 and buy something else, my step dad has a 89 vette and its not that cool.JMO

goodness no. you know the camaro, it's in good shape and 3.8L V6's are VERY strong engines that last and last. you're gonna buy an old car that needs work done to it just to be made acceptable. it's likely high mileage and not only is the engine, transmission and everything else in worse shape than the V6's, you don't even know its history. you're gonna lose fuel economy, longevity and reliability for the sake of a few hp that won't even take you too much faster. keep what you have and if you want power, save up for an LS1 or even an LT1 car.

Yeah I was under the impression that the 89 vette had an lt1 engine. I looked it up when I got home and it didn't, I think I will stick to my camaro.

Thanks everyone for their input.

I know that this is a little off topic but how much horsepower does a 3.8 have?

i beleive the 3.8 makes 200hp, and to clear up the LT1 in the vette; its a L98 not a LT1.

I'd push an '89 Vette before driving a V6 F-body

The Corvette is still a C4, and they have very nice suspension parts underneath. Just do some engine mods on it and put some ZR1/SS wheels on it. They make nice cruisers.

A V6 is not a Camaro. Sell it an get a LS1 if not then a LT1.

Wrong, both of them are trash.

V-8 or bust in F-Bodies. I know some people enjoy modding them, but V-6s worthless IMO

I would make that trade in a damn second.

I believe the 96 Camaros have the 3.4. Only the base 98+ Camaros came with a standard 3.8.
