Default Door Light

Does that little red light on the door handle on the inside of my car have a purpose? Or just an accent piece.

Ya I saw those LED door lights, I personally want to get the lights under the rearview mirror and the dome light switched to LED, but the rest I think would be too bright/borderline ricey, but thats just me. The possiblities are endless though for those LED lights, thanks to that new sponsor.

is it just mine or does the drivers side light seem worthlessly dim? I could barely see anything. I replaced both bulbs too.

The little red light we're discussing reminds me of the nearly pointless little light that my '88 Camaro had above the radio. I owned the car for nearly 3 years before I ever realized there was even a light there .

That is the ash tray light, I think 91-92 they moved that light up to the rear view mirror which was more odd. but it did give light below to the ashtray. Weird stuff that GM did, and for 2nd gens there was a fiber optic cable that took light from a 194 bulb in the speedo and shot it to the ashtray.

I had a '85 Z28 with the fiber optic cable that ran from the light bulb from the gear selector to the astray in the console.I have the light on the rearview on my '91 TA,when it went out I had a hell of a time finding the replacement bulb for it.I had to have the stupid thing, you know.
