LS1 vs LS2
I have a 01 Ws6, that i plan on keeping forever, and my next ride will be a 09 z28/ss what ever is the badest... Lets say they have a ls2,r what ever it will be called when 2009 rolls around making 400 hp, is there much diff than my ws6, i mean i'm hopping there is worlds of diff but i don't see it, I would think 450 would hit the mark, I think a 100 hp upgrade in hp would hit the spot, i can not see em putting no more than 450 for 09, i hope but its a no i'm prety sure........... back to ls1 vs ls2 can u really tell the diff, lets say if u drive a Ws6 r a 06 GT0 r vette

The LS2 is a more powerful engine, although I have seen magazine engine dynos putting the LS1 and LS2 very close together in power, but I think the LS1 had less accessories when they dynoed it.
And judging by the general trend, if the 09 Camaro comes with a 400 bhp LS2, the weight will likely keep it from being much faster than an LS1 F-bod, so I wouldn't hold my breath, all they gotta do in the marketplace is beat the mustang, not previous cars.

keep i mind the lower cost of bolt ons for the ls1, and the limitations of drive-by-wire versus drive-by-cable. lots of people with LS2s wish they had drive-by-cable, i guess the response feels slightly better.
chances are the 09 camaro will have an ls2, but the vette will probably get an LS3 or something, then theyll waste money redoing the motor mounts on the camaro to put that engine in the '10 camaro. (it loosk wierd to have '10 lol)

My friend owns an 06 GTO and I have an 01 WS6. Both M6. The pissing contest began! (he won due to his wallet. cam/LT's/cat-back/conservative tune =415/389 to the tires and a mid 12@112 without trying too hard. Weighs 36XX on DOT scales. He changed some stuff for SLP stuff. Lost 200#.)
Anyways...my other friend's brother has the same thing, just bone stock. 20-140 he beat a WS6 by 1.5-2 cars. He ran a best of mid 13's@104(Horrid launch, decent shifting when moving). There are 2 local guys in the 12's bone stock. (powershifting like hell).
Every vid my friend with the now cammed GTO sent me had the LS1 car losing by 1-2 cars. Every vid I sent him had the LS1 being =.
The GTO is slightly faster from a roll, slightly slower from a dig (IRS/weight) with all but a GREAT driver.
The LS2 does not have as many QC issues (piston slap, ect) as the LS1. It still can suck oil though. My friend's cammed GTO does not, however.
