Which would you choose and why? The all new Diesels
Looking into a new truck here within a couple months. Im looking at all the new diesels and also the new tundra 5.7l. I would like to hear thoughts of reliabilty and issues you have or someone near you have encounterd owning any of these vehicles and their engines.
2007 GMC duramax 6.6l 365hp 660tq
2007 Dodge Cummings 6.7l 350hp 650tq
2007 Ford Super Duty 6.4l 350hp 650tq (seq. turbosystem) not a fan of..
2007 Tundra 5.7l 381hp 401tq, gas but great contender 10,800 tow.
I like the interior of the new GMC and Ford. I wish dodge had more options for cab and bed. I love the new tundra as well. But I still like diesel power and performance.
Thanks guys
Casey

My dad has an '01 Sierra 2500HD with the Duramax and Allison transmission. That truck is a monster. Tows our fifth-wheel like it's not even there especially with the "Tow-Haul" mode on the Allison. I don't remember the mileage on it but it's over 80k now I believe. The only thing he's had go wrong is one of the fuel injectors cracked and leaked diesel into the crankcase. Gas mileage dropped like crazy, oil pressure fluctuated, and you could smell the diesel when the truck was running. Took it to the dealer and got it fixed under warrenty since the Duramax is warrented to 100k. It would normally have cost 6k to fix due to the amount of work to replace an injector.
Oh and I forgot to add... the new Duramax has even more torque than my dad's. That has got to be sick.

I voted The GMC for sure, I think the new ones will be amazing(the last gen was already exc). My second choice would probably be the Toyota, my buddies neighbour has 30' travel trailer and a chev 1500 and a tundra. He uses the Tundra to tow, and it does a exc. job of it(the chev can do it if nec. but he uses the tundra almost strictly), fit and finish on the toyota is excellent. Really I dont think theres a bad pick on the list

Already have an H2. Im looking at the Sierra classic, I like that the duramax doesnt have all the emissions junk like the all new sierra does. But im sure there will be things out soon enough to delete all that.

GMC hands down. GMC's are great trucks.
after the GMC, i'd get the ford as they make a decent diesel. as for the toyota, i don't know why anyone would buy an import truck.

Its an excellent truck with awesome safety features. All they need now is a diesel and they would dominate.

an import truck, IMO, is like buying a hatchet to chop down a redwood. i don't care how things look on paper. i don't care what the factory tells you. history tells me america makes a better truck. history also tells me to support my own country. remember, ford employs more american autoworkers than EVERY foreign car company in the world put together. think about who you're buying from before you buy.
