my dads gotta 67 ss 396 chevelle, he's owned it since 1970. He bought it from his best friend that bought it brand new in 67. Our tool box was stolen and we had all of our titles locked up in it. The car hasnt been registered since i was born in '83 so im pretty the bmv dont have any records of it. what do we need to do?? any chance we can get a duplicate made with out jacking up the title history?? thanks for any help

Contacting DMV is just about your only option

ya, unless you want to pay me $5 to write one in crayon. Always keep the title in your house (unless thats where your toolbox was...)

Like Greasemonkey said, just go to your local DMV and aply for a duplicate title. It's not a big deal and usually only costs a few bucks.

the bmv only keeps titles on record for like 5 years
