It depends on the car itself. Some are wrecked or have major parts missing (well with the motor I guess you can't quite call it an LS1 just yet). I haven't seen a better deal than what I picked my car up for. It seems like a BS story when I tell people b/c the car was (and still is) in next to perfect, body and motor condition-speaking. I bought it off another girl who was afraid of it's power so it wasn't abused on either. It had roughly 48k on the clock at the time, this being about two years ago. It has close to 58k now and I paid just short of $9000.
But wrecks + salvages, that's a different story, or if you mean just the block itself.

i just bought my 2002 camaro z28 with a 6spd, headers, y-pipe, catback, lid, drag radials, full options including t-tops and leather with 60k miles on it.
.............. for $6,000
it did need a clutch - so i really put $6,500 in it.
