Question best OVERALL video camera for an amature?

I wanted to start making videos of my car, and racing, and track meets etcetc, and I am tired of using my small dig. cam...its just a pain in the butt...

Anyway, I am going to start looking for vid cams...

I dont really want to spend more than $300....it doesnt have to be ***** out, just something that takes day and night vids, AND is EASY to hook up to a computer for vid transfers!!

Any recommendations?

THANKS

Canon ZR700, Great little camcorder! You can find them for around 270 I believe.
I have two family members that have one and they both love it...

Its all about what you think and what you like. You have to go and look at them in person.. But you can take other peoples advice but I strongly dont recommend it ( no offense to anyone) but you have to use it and try it at a store before buying.

That and maybe a jack for a remote microphone. When you take vids out of the window of a moving car, the only sound you get is of wind noise. Be nice to have a mike inside the car.

I'd look into picking up a Canon Elura 65.

I've had mine for about 2-3 years now and I really like it.

I think it was like $500-700 then. Now, I think you can get it new on ebay for around $400 shipped. Not too bad.

I actually love this little digvidcamcorder. Shoots GREAT daytime video and decent night video. I'm sure if I tweaked on the settings a little I could get the night videos better.

Anyways - hope this helps. Good luck
