Default Speech topic for college

I have to do a speech for an interpersonal communications class this coming week and my professor recommended that, based on my interests, I use the topic of drag racing. The speech has to relate to interpersonal communications and more specifically, non-verbal communication. I know this is a shot in the dark but has anyone done anything close to this? We have to use 5 scholarly sources which is hard to find online. Any input on possible sources or even some help on what types of communication is important in drag racing would be useful!
Ive got some ideas of non-verbal communication such as staging duals and the lights on the tree. Anyone else have some nice examples?
Any help is appreciated!

Track attendants, end track markers, sand pit, damn I'm drawing blanks. That seems like a tough topic man, maybe try and reconsider?

That's going to be a rough...

There's always the nonverbal part of exiting the track so you don't clobber the other guy to get on the return road, the thumbs up and occasional throwing of the bird haha.
