Camaro's Out...Whats In?
I am garaging my car and looking for a new nice and affordable daily driver. I need the payment to be under $300. I am looking at a new Avenger and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on it. It is an SXT with heated seats, Sirius radio, sunroof, remote start, etc.. I bargained with the sales manager and got him to come down 1100 on the price and tint the windows for free. Seems like it would be a great daily driver and good for long distances. Any other suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated!

It all depends on what your lookin for, if you want MPG's or a decent comfortable ride that still has decent power.... Theres many definitions of DD, If you just want a commuter car then a honda or somethin that gets 30-40 MPG's would work, or if you want somethin comfortable with power, BMW's are nice, GTO's and you will still get decent gas millage.... all depends how much your willin to spend.

Yep. First you have to figure out what aspects are most important for you in a daily driver. A daily driver can be anything from a Silverado 2500HD w/ 8.0L big block to a Cobalt with a 4 cyl.
Personally I plan to buy a truck as my next daily driver, but that can't happen till I move closer to work. I need somewhat decent MPG right now because I drive over 70 miles a day. I'm using a '96 Bonneville at the moment as my primary daily driver; it's getting about 26-27mpg in 75% highway/25% city mixed driving....not too bad for the size and age. It's a very comfortable smooth ride, nicely optioned, the 3.8L V6 will outlast me, and insurance is dirt cheap.
But I'll be looking for a V8 4X4 full-sized Chevy truck after I move.

I've got a 2007 Cobalt LS as a daily in SOM. It's a great car, very cheap for brand new and gets fantastic gas mileage. It's got the 5speed manual and it has a "Fuel Economy" gauge. It's at 32.3 MPG and I usually get around 360 miles to the tank. It only cost me 26 bucks to fill too!

Launching!
Get a Mazdaspeed3, 260+hp, 28mpg highway and one of the best small car interiors out there.
I work at a mazda dealer, these things are real quick, handle awesome and no torque steer (LSD and torque managment, means steering wheel stays straight). Plus fold the rear seats down and load up the back with all your junk.
