Any car can run on it. But you'll need either a stainless steel or plastic gas tank, SS fuel lines and I'm not 100% sure but you'll probably need a compatiable fuel pump and injectors. I put 1 tank in my talon without all that stuff and it didn't do any harm, but I used that entire tank that day cause I drove from Indy to KC. I wouldn't let it sit in a regular steel tank or fuel lines for any period of time because it so much more corrosive than regular gas.

If you do run on it you will get slightly worse MPG. I noticed that I went from 24 mpg on the highway to 21 on that trip.

ya you get a little worse gas mileage with e85, but it has a 91 octane rating and burns cleaner than regular gasoline.

You would need a tune. That milage thing is not just because strangely milage disappears - ethanol has less energy content than gasoline (BTU's, if you will), so you need to burn more of it by volume. That means upping the tune as well as going back to the gas station more often.

Running hard / WOT using e85 on a gasoline tune could lean you out pretty badly.

That's one thing i noticed with E85, your mileage goes down, but apparently it's not as bad for the environment, I used to use it in my sonoma that was e85 compatible, but after the price of E85 matched normal gas, it's more economical to go with regular than 85. But like "slw ls1" said, you would have to change injectors and pump and all sorts of components so it wouldn't destroy your fuel system.

i thought E85 had an octane rating of 105. Which is why you make less power in a lower compression engine. If you built the motor with higher compression then you would have to run E85 all the time. But you could get more power and use cheaper gas. I guess.

The whole thought of e85 was supposed to be 1. better for environment, 2. cheaper(domestic corn+ethanol distillers) and 3. Reduce dependency on foreign fuels. But thanks to greedy American farmers it cost the same as the imported fuel. USA #1!!!

Theres a few filling stations around me that have e85 and it is very noticably cheaper than normal gas. It's literally between .50 and .60 cheaper than 87. I know its not that way across the nation, but it is here.

There is only one E85 filling station in California - in San Diego. Isn't it interesting, since Ca. is trying to be Number One on pollution and environment?

That's remarkable, when I was up in MN, it was about .20 cheaper, but after i started going there regularly, it went to the same price as regular, oh well....

Unless any of us plan on living a few million years then we'd have no worries.

All you need is bigger injectors and a tune, i´ve run my car on it now for over three years... the torque is better on E85.

Farmers aren't the reason that E85 costs what it does.

Its the shortage and higher demand of production from the farmer thats driving the prices up. Farmers just dont have enough land to grow crops on to meet the heavy demands. I have seen first hand that the farmers and trying their best to compensate for the demand
