So... what's so bad about it? It sounds like it could still perform like a vette.

I'm interested, although I'm definitely a skeptic. I just can't find a reason to dislike it currently.

When you drive a V8 sports car you dont care about gas mileage. When you care about fuel economy, you own a civic with v-teccccccccccccccccc. My nitrous makes more hp than their car does.

putting more diesels into regular cars would be a good thing for the domestics though. more options for better fuel economy than the rice box alternative! not to mention the torque

I agree that they are more efficient and make killer torque, but they are HEAVY, an all aluminum engine won't be very durable as a diesel it can't handle the stress. Duramax is iron block with aluminum heads and I've heard those have lots of problems.

I think it would be awesome! Look at what Audi has done with their TDI Diesel. It is kicking *** in the road and endurance races and it doesnt even sound or act like your normal diesel. Could be a good thing...

A turbo diesel would be intersting though. They are getting killer numbers in the trucks, just wonder what it could do in a vehicle that is less than half as much. I could now just imagine a cruise and black smoke everywhere. haha.

that would be enough torque to move a mountain. you could pull a tractor with the vette.
more complicated to work on though.

this was reported on april fools day

besides whats with all the hate about diesels? my daily driver is a VW TDI Jetta - 50mpg - even at $3 i really dont care because i go to the gas station every couple of weeks unless on im the highway - and then i get 600 miles before i need to fill up

as for the trucks - i know of a few solid 11 sec duramaxs running around
