Question Rev limiter questions

Do ls1 rev limiters really govern by limiting fuel? Also if you drive an auto and let it shift on its own will it ever hit the rev limiter? Reason i ask is because im soon to be running a dry shot and don't want to touch the governor while spraying.

Unless you mess with the shift points, it shouldnt hit the limiter on its own

A properly shifting auto should never hit the rev limiter. If it is, either the shift points have been modified, the tire size is wrong, or the trans is sliping due to internal wear or improper fluid level.

I agree with everything except the tire size. It wouldnt have anything to do with it. I have 35in tires on my 00 ecsb z-71, and at wot, it's never hit the limiter. Yes, the speedo will read lower than your actually going, but that's all it would do.

Nope, I spent enough time recording shift points on my '00 WS6 with two different rear tire sizes to tell you that a different diameter tire size will result in different WOT shift rpms. Nothing drastic, but you can notice the difference on a scanner. And if you ride your shift points very close to the rev limiter, then a diameter change can cause you to bounce the limiter a tad. I know this from experiance.
