How should I go about buying my car?
Hey, just looking for some advice on the best way to buy my z28. I dont plan on spending over 8k for an earlyish low model LS1 in good condition.
I work 2 jobs and college just let out for the summer, so I have even more time to work. Should I just get a loan for the car and buy it for this summer and slowly pay it off? Or should I just save all my money and buy the car mostly cash with a small loan for next year. (Really wanted it this summer)
Any input appreciated!

8k would be a great deal. im in college too, i just went with a car that i could pay off really easy and plus college parking lots are hell on cars. i dont think i'd want to spend all the money on an ls1 just to have it get totalled in the parking lot.
maybe i just have bad luck but thats whats happened to my last two cars. i come back from class and some part is mashed in. its great!

doh! that really sucks. Our parking lots are in a pretty huge garage, and all the f-bodies have their own parking section so none of their cars get messed up. I could spend like 5k for an lt1 but its not what I really want.

haha some kid has what appears to be a total piece of crap el camino, but when he revs it you can tell there is goodies on the inside
So what do you all suggest I do to buy my car? save or finance?

Save. High payments stink, and really stink when you have to put money in the car (repairs) as well. The love affair ends too quick when that happens. Save over the summer months and get a fresh ride for the Fall season with low or NO payments.

The only thing i would make payments on is a house...
Making payments on anything over $1000 rips you a new one in the long run
