Default If I leave something in my car for a couple of days it smells like exhaust

For instance...if I leave a shirt in my car for a day or two it smells like exhaust...but to me the inside of my car doesn't smell like there is a leak...could there be a small one that i don't notice?...if so i guess it could be dangerous to my health?..

I have that problem but it's due to a leak in my y-pipe I think. Fixing it is the last thing on my list of stuff to upgrade but it is annoying.

put catalytic converters back on, and you won't have that problem anymore...

what? i still have cats....i don't see how that would make a difference....exhaust would still be getting in the car..because cats don't direct the flow of exhaust

I was gonna say if you dont have cats its gonna smell like it is 1972 Ya I like the smell of 1972 but smelling like gas before going out is not too cool. The difference it makes between having cats vs not is the unburned hyrdocarbons, which is probably what you are smelling. I have the same problem, but i just think im used to it because everytime I drive my car my parents says i smell like exhaust
