another how much is my car worth thread...
Hey, I'm considering selling my other car...
1999 FRC. Black.
18201 miles.
Always been garaged.
Only mods - shiny z06 wheels & front z06 screens.
18201 miles
Has HUD & active handling.
It's like brand-new.
18201 miles.
The KBB said private-party is just 19035... what do you guys think?

Sounds way too high. I'll give you 15 cash!
J/K I am not up to date on the recent market. I stopped looking after I found my current car. But seriously, I have someone who might be interested in a FRC. Let me know what you might want to sell it for.

The biggest factor with KBB is KBB isn't offering to buy the vehicle for the value they set, so it's sort of worthless. They do a good job of providing an estimate, naturally other factors apply. Black Book is also a guide, auction reports also assist in determining true value. Unfortunately dealers have access to that information not the general public. Different areas of the country also often changes the value of a car.
Would be satisfied selling the car for that price? It's your car, right?

I'm not really sure what the value of FRCs are compared to just coupes, but I was seeing 98-2000 coupes with ~50k miles plus for no less than $20k. I tend to think craigslist is a pretty good indication of what other cars are actually SELLING for, instead of just the ridiculous asking prices some guys throw out there.

Considering the low mileage, I was thinking more like 24-25k... is that reasonable?

NEVER trust KBB, dealers won't even use it (they use something else called a blackbook). I ran your car through the black book, and in extra clean condition with the low miles it's worth around $22,850. Loan value is $15,365 (how much a typical bank will loan someone to buy this car).

I had a bank give me 20k loan for my 02 SS 6 months ago, had 24k miles on it. Dont take any less than 22k IMO. Someone will take it from you for 22k+. I bought mine off of ebay and it was in perfect condition, i wanted it bad enough to do the "buy it now" option. Someone will buy it from you for 22k.
