Default when i down shift

from 6th to 3rd..at about 4k rps and up..its starts bogging and not making much power...sometimes, i have to let off for a second, the rpms are high enough, is it a o2 sensor? it soemtimes does this in 1st as well, when i take off hard from a dig...but rarely..i didnt know what this was and want to fix it asap!!

If it is at WOT, it could be a misfire or fueling issue. Does it do it any other gear at all? Changing wires couldn't hurt.

Have you gotten a tune? But wires and plugs would be nice.

I know it might be stupid to ask, but are you sure you're not just breaking the tires loose and ASR is kicking in?

try changing out the fuel filter.. could be clogged starving the engine. Not sure why it would do it in only 3rd gear though? Either way its a good item to change out regardless.

Its your K&N filter. The oil from the filter gets on the MAF and sends a retarded reading at WOT for a few seconds. Go get a factory gm or acdelco paper filter and some MAF cleaner from the parts store. You will actually make more power out of a paper filter than a K&N for some reason too. i had this exact same problem...

if for some reason this does not fix it, it is probably your o2 sensor. It will actually show up on an OBD scan as an o2 if you throw a code when it does this
