Default Should i buy this car?

it is a 99 trans am, like a champagne color. from what i saw and from when i test drove it, it has corsa catback exhaust, drilled and slotted rotors with i think brembo calipers, boyd coddington smoothies with 245/17's all around, and a shift kit, either computer tuned or tranny installed. oh yeah and it is also lowered. it drives and handles really good. it does have 82,000 miles on it though. its from a dealer and they want 10,500 for it. and im trading in my 06 pontiac g6 which im about $4,000 upside down in. so just based off of what i told you about the car, in your opinion would it be a good/safe choice to get that car. because 10,500 is about all i can spend and i cant buy a car from a private seller because i am so upside down in my car. the only thing i dont like about the car is the 82,000 miles. everything else is awesome. thanks alot. Dan.

Go for it. Sounds like a nice ride. How come you are getting rid of the G6?? Just curious, my fiance has a g6 GTP and the brakes are horrible on that car. Just wondering if there are other things to look out for.

thanks for the good feedback guys. i feel alot better about gettn this beauty. i really did try to talk these guys down, but its like they dont even care if they sell the car or not. it kind of pissed me off. but its all good. its still in my price range. i will let yall know if i get it and then ill post pics. thanks again guys.

Smokin00WS6-the g6 is a pretty good car. i most definately love the gas mileage. but mine is a 4 door 4 cylinder base model. i didnt even know this thing didnt come with anti lock brakes until i had to slam on them. so that sucks. but other than that i am happy with it. but i am a true Trans Am man at heart and wont be happy with anything else.

well the bank called and said the would approve me for the 15,700 i need for the car, but that 15,700 was for the 30th anniversary edition, which this is not. so they said this car was worth 10,100 and for trade ins they only do 120% financing, so they can only give me a loan for 12,210. so i talked to the dealership and told them about it and asked if there was any way would could swing that. so they said its possible. but i dont see how. so they are going to call me back. i dont think it will happen though. so now im ****** depressed cuz its gonna be a while before i can get a trans am.

99HorseSlayer--do you mean the vehicle classifieds section here? cuz if so, ive looked plenty, but i am upside down in my car. thats why my only option is to trade it in at a dealer and tack the difference onto the trans am that i get.

This is just my opinion, but if you have another month or so wait. Alot of the 08 models are going to be coming out. Some people might get rid of thier cars and a few TA's might be in there. Ive seen this happen alot when it comes to new model year trade in's. Go through cars.com or autotrader.com in your area. I bet you can find a lower milage newer TA for a good price. Trust me, patients when it comes to finding cars, there will always be that one that falls on your lap.

holy crap. this is seriously pissin me off. that 02 formula with 89k for 10,500 that i told yall about. well i got approved for up to 17k for that car. called the dealership told them i wanted it. and then i told them what i was trading in and they said they dont take anything newer than an 05, no exceptions.

No problem. Sounds like from your last post this car stealership are a bunch of Pains in the Asses. Maybe you shouldnt get this one by the way things are playing out. Just keep your eyes and ears open. I hate stealerships.

eloan.com

That's how I got mine. I was upside down $3500 on my Hyundai and I could only get 120% on a trade in. Went to eloan.com, applied, got approved and they mail you a blank check worth up to what you get approved for. They don't ask what car it is, if its a trade in or what, it gets handled just like if it was cash coming from your checking account

I owed 9500 on my hyundai, got 6000 for it, the trans am was 9500, brought the dealer down to 9000 so I gave the dealer a check for 12500 and that's what I got financed, even though I had been approved for over 22,000 based on my good credit.

If you do go that route don't forget to tell them to add the gap insurance to cover your *** since you're upside down in case you total it. Wouldnt want to be paying for a car you don't own would ya?
