Finally experienced the LS1
I decided to stop at a Ford dealer where they had a red 02 A4 regular Trans Am. It had 42k miles on it, in great shape but there asking a bit much for it, 22 grand!! So they let me test drive it, asked me if I drove high performance cars like it, I said I drove a couple LT1 z28's (actually once, my bro's 95 z28)
So we get it on the road, and I'm really surprised that for such a high powered car, it has a soft/easy low end unless you really step on the gas, then it hauls ***! I didn't floor it all the way though, just around 3/4 throttle or a little more up to 75mph then I let off. I think I made the sales guy a little nervous
I gotta say, after driving the T/A, I want one NOW!!

I remember when I test drove my 01 t/a with only having ever drove my lt1 z28 and I told the guy..."mind if i open it up'..he said "go for it, just don't crash' and I couldn't believe the ease of driving this thing, how nice it was to cruise around until you threw it to the floor then it tips you into the back of your seat for three gears and keeps you amazed of how fast the 0-60 and 70-120 is, I just couldn't enjoy myself without an ls1 parked out font~

$22K for a 42K mile T/A!?!? Yowza!
But yeah, they are a blast! I'll never forget when I went and picked up my Z/28 from a dealership. The guy let me take it for a test drive (by myself). The first time I tried to launch I bogged real bad, but it didn't take long before I got the T56 and clutch worked out, and new that I was taking that car home that day!

yeah, that was my plan was to buy a T/A and then get hood and all that to make it a WS6 but more i think about it i like having the T/A because most people dont know the difference between a T/A and a Firechicken so its almost like a sleeper in a way...

I was at a pontiac dealer before I bought my SS and they had a red reg TA a4 with about 40k on it and I took it for a test drive. Put the thing sideways on the on ramp and the salesman just about **** himself . When I orginally sat down with them the salesman said they were wanting 13.9k which was a decent deal from a dealership with that kind of milage. He ran my credit and everything then came back and said that they were really asking 17.9k. I laughed in his face and got up and left.

When I was looking for mine I test drove a 2000 ws6 by myself and I drove the hell out of it but it had 60k for 20k and I passed. I later stopped by a ford dealership and saw my 2002 ta sitting there waiting on me. I also test drove this one by myself and did the same. It had 34k miles and I got it for 18k. Never forget or regret it.
