Default what would my 1/4 time be?

Hi, I'm new and have an 02 Firebird 6-speed and want to make it faster down the track. I'm looking into parts and was wondering what my 1/4 time would be if I bought this kit or used identical parts to make my own. I'll be running 93 pump gas on street tires.

Some of the more talented gentlemen on here, could part out the 3800$It would amaze you.We all learn and in a year, youll be kickin yourself for spending the cash that way. That money could get you a serious Head and cam package(installed) and you would be killin 1/4 times. But dont just go on my advice,do what makes you happy.Thats all that will really matter in the end.

ya for that kind of money you could pretty much slap a good set of heads, nice cam and full bolt ons and be hitting close to 450 hp to the wheels. the package they show MIGHT get you 400 at the crank. i'm glad people ask on here before they buy stuff.

1) You will be nowhere near 400hp
2) You could do heads & cam (yourself) at that price
3) You could buy those parts for half the price if you look around on this board.
4) You will regret it if you choose to go that route
5) Lid + LTs&Catback + Tune = 12.6s (excellent driver), 12.9 (good driver) 13.2 (average driver) if you are on stock tires.
6) Suggestion: spend a little more time reading the stickys, and PM the moderators and sponsors. They are all very helpful. Good Luck.

Spending that kind of money it wouldn't be hard to get into the high 11's. I have spent probably close to 2,500 and I'm in the mid 12's with mods in sig. Add a cam and maybe some nitrous and 11's wouldn't be far behind! Shop around because you can get much more bang for buck by not going with SLP! I'll admit that they have good stuff, but they are way too overpriced! Do yourself a favor and forget the so called "performance packs"

do not i repeat do not buy that kit...it is way overpriced

here is a list of the mods that I have purchased and their prices

lid- used $65-install free
XS longtube headers-new $350-install free
Jet Hot Y pipe- new $225(could have been made cheaper)-install free
Spiral flow muffler-$45-install $15
Stage 2 5.3 patriot heads 2.02 1.56. ls1speed comp cam 231-237 114+2 comp pushrods slp oil pump all have about 3000 miles on them put down 407rwhp(through an automatic) and ran 11.5 in 1/4 all day long-$1050-install free(haven't done it yet)
ported throttle body-free
tune-$300(not done yet either)
Total $2050 for mid 11's...left off the stall converter and tranny cooler since you are an m6, and the ls6 intake since you already have one.

Definitley done buy that package. Its way too much!

You can get a lid, port your Throttle body, ls6 intake manifold, Long tube headers &catback....with these mods you can see some mid 12's.
Add a cam, drag radials and some good driving and 11's are very possible!

The first thing you need to do is spend a few weeks reading threads and FAQs on this site before you buy anything. It will be the best thing you do for your car. I GUARANTEE it.

1st thing you need to buy is a lid all lids are pretty much the same with a different name on it.
Then do all the free mods (do a search for "free mods")

Then you will need to do exhaust which includes headers and atleast 3" exhaust out the back or you can do true duals dumped, whichever you prefer.

Then do the heads and cam.. Or just cam.

Since your M6 get a lightweight flywheel to free up some weight on you rotating mass. THis will help your car accelerate ALOT faster.

Thats just some simple steps to take to get your car in the 11's..

With a cam you will need a stronger rear and clutch with an M6. A lighter flywheel will free up some weight but as far as drag racing goes, a lightweight aluminum flywheel is not the best option since it doesn't store as much energy as a steel one on the launch.
