Default A/C + LS1=?

I live in FL and even as hot as it gets here because of gas mileage I never run my AC.
Just wondering how many of you run your ac and if so how many miles do ya get??

AC For the win. When its 95 degrees and your sitting in traffic under the hot southern sun, the AC is great. I just clocked 24 mpg with teh AC on while driving 300 miles from Columbia to Atlanta to G11 the other day.

or that, if I am on my way to meet up with girls or w/e, I'll turn up the AC so that I don't have a huge square of sweat on my shirt.

I got Fabric Seats.. that problem rarely happens. My AC is gone, completely deleted. I got the good 'ole roll down Windows. I took it out as soon as I got it, the previous owner put $400 in it right before he sold it to me and it crapped out 2 days later.
It blows colder now with a Cover Plate over the AC stuff than it ever did with the AC actually installed..

i use my a/c most of the time - it's not that bad, about 5% worse mileage (20mpg vs 24mpg)

A/C really doesn't hurt the gas mileage that bad. I read an article once that said windows-down drag is worse on gas mileage than the a/c.

That all depends on the design of the car and your speed. In most cases, having the AC on hurts gas mileage a lot more than having the windows down. I've seen it time and again with my own cars.

I run the AC whenever it's too warm to be comfortable without it.

Since I'm not a daily driver, I only drive my TA about an hour each weekend. T-tops come off when it's hot.

out of the 3 cars i have had (1 in Florida and 2 in Cali), i have used the A/C maybe 10 times. Im about to drive from San Diego to Florida so i guess i'll use it driving through the desert. Guess i should make sure it works.
