Quick Lube
I stopped in at one of those Quick Oil Lube places the other day and asked if they could flush my cooling system. They answered yes. I asked the guy in the garage what types of coolant they offered. His answer was they only use Super Tech!

Perhaps his point was that Super Tech is Walmart's in house brand?

DUDE - Generally, you won't find the greatest mechanics where you went. A dealership isn't much better, but they will know the correct fluid to reinstall. How about a trusted tranny joint when you want anything associated with a tranny? Yes you'll pay more, but? Watch the term flush. You're interested in a complete fluid replacement. When you get your oil changed it's not called a flush, 10/4!

I didn't take my car to quick lube; I took my truck so that I could dispose of the used oil that came out of my car. I just happened to ask the dude what antifreezes they had available. All of their oil and all their antifreeze was Super Tec (Wal Mart brand), and he said he would have put Super Tec in my car. Last time I checked, GM discourages Ethylene Glycol and encourages the red stuff (Dexcool). So I guess the point of the post is: When you take your car somewhere (if you happen to do that) make sure they are on the same page as you when it comes to what goes into the car. Most idiots (and most people are idiots) would have assumed that "Quick? Lube" was on top of their game and would proceed to add the factory recommended fluids. So as they say in real estate "Buyer Beware!"!!

Technically the red stuff doesn't NEED to be used...it isn't really in any way superior to green stuff..just lasts longer they say.
Persoanlly EVAN's would be the shyt to run..waterless coolant, and you can run it w/ the cap off..because it requires no pressue
