Removing baffles from WS6 hood Scoops?

Removing baffles from WS6 hood Scoops? Hey, guys! I think I may have asked this in a thread along time ago, but I was wondering if anyone has removed the baffles from the hood scoops on the WS6. It looks like you would get at least a minimal gain by cleaning it out. Also...how much work was it? Possible cons of doing it? Thanks in advance.

Did it to mine. infact,... you can see it in my sig below. I used a saw-zaw to remove the two 'Rain Deflectors' in the hood. Its pretty simple. Built a funnel out of T6 aircraft aluminum to incert in the void to direct airflow straight into the airbox also. Took about 3 hours to cut em out and build the new funnel all together.

an easier and more reversible way of doing it then using a sawzall would be to drill the rivets that hold it in out. the other two were glued on iirc? the only possible downside might be getting water into the intake tract, but i highly doubt that would happen

Don't do it you will get water all up in the engine bay and intake, just happened to me 5 months ago while driving home against the rain (very hard rain, hydroplaning like crazy). I forgot the baffle was gone, pulled over and there was water all up in the filter.

For those who had the chance to get the BG ram air mod, You got it made with the rain blocking plate. Others that still want to remove the baffles, I would just remove the rear plate only and leave the fronts just incase you do go out in the rain or get caught in it... just my .02

I think it's to much work for no or minimal gains. If your car is daily driver i wouldn't do it. Keep the rain out of your filter.

I did this to my ws6 i just poped out the little rivets and then it came right out
I used the BG ram air mod which totally rawked!

If you're going to seal the intake to the lid it's worth doing for a good working CAI (Ram Air is a lie).
As for rain. I'm debaffled, have the hood sealed to the intake, and have never had water issues and have driven in plenty of downpoors. I would use an oild filter though as the filter will get a little wet.
