Cam Car+long Trip =???
ima be driving to cali in a few weeks.. and i was wondering if theres anything that will go wrong with my car since its such a long trip? its bout 1500 miles...yes of coarse ima stop for gas, and to sleep...but still.. i never driven a car that had an aftermaket cam that many miles.... its an ms3 btw... so what do u guys think? should it be ok? im also lookin for some stock cheepo wheels with cheepo tires good enough to make the trip on...anyone? preferably in SA, texas area.. dont really have much money for shipping..or wheels really..nothing fancy just something that will work...

if you are tuned etc.. you shouldnt have any problems at all, at least no more chance of having any problems than you would normally encounter. check a tire rack or discount tire and whatever they got thats cheap. Just if you plan on speeding, make sure they are speed rated for you, z or y.
Your cam is much bigger than mine, but I havent had any issues from long trips == driving over 300 miles in a day.

makes me feel better..and lol joe michael yea let me borrow the bogarts! them sum sexy bitches rite there!!! but yea im movin back for abit...my boss said i could have my old job back with a 5 dollar raise...and thats kinda hard to turn down... but ill be back bro! i love it here in texas i just need to pay some credit cards, and try to get my car paid off them i can come back... and not worry bout bills..just modding car! also gotta convince the gurl to come out here!

yea thats what i thought..i was just wondering..cuz the cam is more agressive on the valvetrain, and the dual springs...just a new question i guess!

Before the 918's (and before the 915's, actually), I had a Rev spring break on me 1100 miles from home. But technology has gotten better! If your valvesprings still have plenty of life in them I'd say just check the usual... fluids, tire pressure, spare tire pressure (or full sized spare), etc.
But I was always paranoid after that incident. I always brought tools, full size hydraulic jack, spare fluids, flashlight, portable air compressor, laptop with a scan tool and/or programmer, etc.

i wish i had all those extra tools lol..i dont even have my spare anymore..guess ill just carry a prostar with me LOL... well the springs have bout 2-3k miles total on them..they are dual springs..i think they should still be pretty good. i just changed the oil, and im pretty sure the coolant is topped off..gotta check the others.

yea like everyone else has said...youll be fine JUST BE SURE TO TOP SOME THINGS OFF before u go...im stationed in LittleRock and live in SC...ill be makin my 2nd trip home here in 16 days...ITS A BLAST!!!...i too have a 224/224 cam and no problems..my total trip is about 10+hrs... i just hope ur not like me and have to stop every damn 3hrs to ****...DAMN GATORADE!!
