Is it worth it?
After being in a financial fix for quite some time barely making bill payments, I have found myself with a new job and quite a bit more spending money. With this new found money, comes one huge problem for me . What do I do with my Z28? Should I continue to mod it or dump all my money on the car note and pay it off in order to sell it in preparation for the new camaro coming out. I guess my biggest fear is putting thousands of dollars into the car I have now, then in a year new stockers roll off the line and man handle my 450rwhp h/c/i car that i've dumped so much money into. Is this a valid fear? or with a h/c/i ls1 will I still be able to hold my own? To mod or not to mod?

I mean its up to you, just dont go with a GT, I would personally just keep your car, but if you really dont know, just keep yours and save your money, when the new ones come out test drive one, if you like it get one, if not you'll have the money saved up to mod the hell outa your car

I vote for none of the above.
I say dump the money into paying off the car now and worry about mods later depending on if you like the new Camaro when it's released or not. If you like it, then sell. If not, then start modding.
As for the new Camaro, in stock form I'm sure it's not going to beat a 450rwhp 4th gen.

Does the idea of a car that's faster than yours really bother you that much? New Camaro or whatever, there'll always be a ride faster than yours. As stated above, wait and test drive a new Camaro, buy it if you feel like it. Personally, I'd stick with the better looking 4th gen and build that up. Who the hell wants new car payments anyway?

All I want to say is that spending money on your car is the worst investment you'll ever make.
So, I would make a modest stopping point and start modding. H/C/I is a nice route. Maybe a little suspension, maybe some exhaust, and call it a day. You can get more out of the LS1 for a little coin. No need to try to be faster than EVERYone else, just remember that point.

Also, when the new one rolls out they will be at sticker price or higher no doubt. Not that it should stop you if you want it, just a consideration.
There is nothing like customizing your ride to exactly what you like either

I don't think you can even call a car an investment haha. But I agree with RPM WS6. I would pay it off and see how it feels to owe nothing and own the car yourself. Then if you get some extra money maybe do a few mods until you decide if you like the new camaros or not.

I look at driving a muscle car as an experience first and foremost. In stock form, these cars are fairly boring.
I want my car to rumble and sound mean while kicking me back into the seat by barely giving it gas. That's an experience.
I don't care if I run 11's, 12's or 13's, or if I can't beat 50% of the cars I run across. But that's me. I'm not a racer. I'm a muscle car enthusiast.
With that said, bolt ons, cam --and since I'm auto-- a stall, is all I need to be happy. If that gets me 350 or 400+ hp, it doesn't matter.
