Did anyone get what they expected for their used f-body?
I'm trying to sell my 2001 Z-28, and I have this really sick feeling that I'm not going to get anywhere near what I want. My dealer offered me about half what it's worth. Has anyone sold their f-body, and got what they wanted? Any examples?
I have the car on cars.com and craigslist.
BTW, I have a 2001 Camaro Z-28 35,000 miles, auto, air, power group, polished aluminum American Racing wheels, new tires, new brakes, new muffler and tailpipe, recent inspection, economical 2.73 rear axle, immaculate condition, one owner, CD radio, dual-dual exhaust, ram-air intake add-on, $13,900 and the dealer offered me $7500 towards a new Vette. Something's not right.
Thanks for any input.

dude, its a dealer. they gotta make their money, and used cars is what they use to get it, they low ball you on your car, and then sell it for double.
sell your car yourself, worst thing you could ever do is trade in a perfectly good and working car to a dealership... thats askin to get robbed

I priced a 2006 Corvette and almost laughed when they said how much they'd give me for my 1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Black 6-Speed Hardtop. Something in the neighborhood of $7000. I was thinking to myself "what do you think I am" I could see you selling it for $13-14k. Good luck.

I was offered $7500 trade in on my 2000 SS w/ 48k... I sold it privately for $16,000, cash.
I posted it up for $16,000... really it was my "don't want to sell the car" price, because I thought no one would pay that. It was sold within about 2 weeks, for my asking price.
I sold my 02 B4C w/ 103k for $10,000... that took a month or so.
If you hold out and sell privately, you'll get what you're asking. $13,900 for 35k miles is a pretty decent price in my eyes. I'd recommend listing it on ebay, that's how I sold both of mind. Keep in mind you probably won't sell it ON ebay, you'll sell it OFF ebay. Put your phone number in the listing, you'll get a million calls but it will pay off in the end.

they offered you $7500, and would prob try to put it for sale the same day for $18k, ******* stealerships.....you should get $13k for it pretty easily, when someone rear ended me in my 2001 A4 Formula it was totaled with only 28k miles and Allstate compensated me with $17,100.....although I did pay 18k for it at Carmax

My '00 car sold for $21k back in '04. Not bad, IMO.
If I were to sell my '98 now, I'd ask about $13k, considering it's a show quality car with 14k miles. A dealer would probably offer me $6k.

I think AutoTrader is a good bet. I've only sold two vehicles in forums and that's because they were very inexpensive. I've lowered the asking price on my car to $17K, but the best offer I've gotten off of the many forums I use is $14K...

I got $2500 toward my truck for my 94 Caprice with 199k in 04. There's NO WAY I could've sold that car for that.

I tried to trade my ultra clean 110k mile '89 Formula 350 for a new Camaro in '99, and they offered me $1400. I told them to pound sand. Then I sold it myself for $6500 on the street.
