What are Compression Dents?????
Please help!!! I went to look at a 98 Trans AM. The Driver's side Rear quarter panel has 3 fist size dents. The owner says they are compression dents. What causes this? Is this common? Is this correct??? Could this be damage in the frame?? I am interested in the car but concerned about dents.

he said they were compression dents.....? no **** anybody could see that they were dents apparently the seller was reluctant to tell you what caused them so i would be cautious buying the car unless its too hard to pass up because he was selling so cheap

Compression dents? thats a new one to me. The only thing I can think of is the ripples that sometimes appear when these cars see enough hard launches, but they still are not fist sized.

to get the dimples/crease on there rear quarters is some what normal if a car has had some hard launches. But anything fist size is rediculous. Compression dents, from what punching the car?? I would probably walk a way from this car. If the owner can't tell the truth about simple dents then what else is not being honest about?
