i thought the WRX was turbocharged with 300HP and AWD. not to mention the whole car weighs in at about 500 pounds

300hp and AWD should make almost anything pretty quick

Your talking about the WRX STi, which weighs around 3200lbs.

the wrx's are turbo as well, they are just wayyyyy slower than the sti's. The sti's are pretty similar speed wise to an fbody, but i would take an evo over one anyday. Anyways wrx= slow, sti= quick.

Most people who drive normal cars would think an 07 wrx is a fast sports car. They run 14.1-14.2 in the quarter, with a 0-60 in the 5s. Most cars go 16s or 17s in the quarter and 0-60 in like 7 or 8 seconds.

I like em. Amost bought an o2 wrx to build up, but I'm so so glad I went with an f-bod. They are just a different car. They have a horizontally opposed engine which makes for a killer sound IMHO.

the STi is a very quick car, and after a few mods runs 12s. WRX is kind of a speedy cool track car

So, going back to my original question, stock are they fast cars or is it that they're easy to mod which makes them fast. And, I was referring to the Evo.

A buddy of mine has a 95 Impreza that he swapped a stock 03 WRX motor and drivetrain into.. Barely slower if not as fast as my Z28, but his car weighs 2400 pounds and is all wheel drive. But with a little bit of mods the WRX can become pretty quick.

I always assumed that what the STI's lacked in power they gained with handling, of course if you're talking track, not straightline performance.

Like i said, the wrx's are slow but the sti's are pretty quick. IMHO buying a wrx for speed is a waste of money. They run for about the same price as pretty good condition fbodys do....

dood...eclipses are listed as sports cars. my 3.4L V6 firebird that had 160 bhp and ran a 17.70 @ 80 mph was listed as a sport's car. in today's market, if it's a car favored by youngins and has a wing on it, it's a sports car...because insurance companies list it as a sport's car

I would only buy a wrx for a cheap and clean family sedan daily driver

yea evos are my favorite four cylinder car, but youre looking at coughing up atleast 20k for one, you can get a wrx for around 13k easily.
