Default WHich has a high top speed A4 or M6?

Which tranny allows for a higher top speed? And what is that speed?

Also on an m6 tranny can anyone calculate the redline speed of 6th grear?

M6 is higher top speed. dash says 150 you go like a 170 or something like that although i had mine at 160 so i think M6 is little higher

EDIT- but i see you have an A4, just get a built A4 with a stall and you can have just as much fun because i've had both

with the stock gearing and trans ratios I'd say the M6 easily
iirc 5th gear would be optimal for speed

Our cars are governed at 162 mph. If you take it off, its going to depend on rear end gearing, but i suspect you wouldnt get much out of 5th gear, and 6th gear would just be a dog if you could get it there. 5th and 6th are simply overdrive gears.

Ya, 5th and 6th are both overdrives but my car still pulls in 5th because 4th only goes up to about 140 then 5th gear you go and still pulling. But 6th gear is useless in top speed because i dont even think that you could max out 5th gear, atleast i havent thats to fast for my blood.

Man, I dont know about that, I doubt it. Check the guys video above, He was getting near high 5th gear at 140, looks like he had stock gears. Look at your speedo again at the end of 4th.

still makes no sense if you're on stock gears. **on 2nd thought,130 may be possible **

That doesn’t sound right. Even with 410 gears I can do almost 130 in 4th , and I can run out 5th gear to redline which is about 170.

use this link to figure it out -->http://www.f-body.org/gears/

theoretically if you had the power and stock gearing the M6 could reach a higher top speed

Mine redlined @ 157 in 5th with 4.10s. I don't see how you pulled 170 outta yours unless your trans has diff gearing. BTW redline is 6200rpm
