im gonna say it really depends on if either driver can handle that much power.

i'd like to think that a chaged ls1 would take down an supercharged 4.6

Too many variables to tell just from a procharger or a KB, it would depend on what else is done to the cars and tune exc.

I'd say that the LS1 would have the advantage if they were running similar boost and had similar engine work done....Cobras are fat asses.

i think it really depends on the size of the supercharger/ power output. most KB or whipple cobras put down ATLEAST 600 to the wheels.

it could go either way it depends on the set ups and what kind of boost levels both are running

if it's a stock motor ls-1 with a procharger and 5-10 psi it will get killed....if it's a built motor running alot of boost then the ls will win....

Yah, the pistons and rod bolts would have to be upgraded for the LS1's bottom end to survive enough boost to hold off a KB Cobra. However, once that is done, my money is on the LS1. KB Cobras are no joke...

I wish these posts would have to be in the street racing or racer's louge forums. They mean nothing factually because there's too many probabilities (not even counting the drivers) for these questions to be able to be answered with any accuracy. Then, they just turn into opinionated arguments fit for the street race or RL.

An otherwise stock PC LS1 F-body might have ~400 rwhp and a sucky driver, or it might have full and well-tuned suspention and be pushing ~700 rwhp peak with a drag race god. Normally, FI F-Bods and Stangs are far from stock, so it depends on the car, location, luck and driver every time.

On LS1Tech, I hope, you're going to hear more betting on the FI F-Body all things considered.

Don't forget that the most important thing to consider is how well both cars put this power to the ground. All the HP in the world does you no good if it can't connect with the pavement.

If the extent of your mods are what you have listed in your sig, you can add "not Cobra worthy" to the list of things you're not (ie. "not scared")

This quote always makes me laugh, especially coming from an F-body owner. No, you don't have a Corvette, your car is not 3100 pounds, it's 3500 pounds and heavy.

Cobras weigh 150 pounds more than an LS1. The earlier model N/A Cobras weigh about 200 pounds less than an LS1. Swap in a solid axle and some GT rear brakes and you have a car that weighs less than an LS1. Weight is easy to overcome, especially when you have a forged motor straight from the factory...

i believe MOST KB Cobra's run a low ball of 12 psi and upwards of 19psi or more. I've seen them usually around 13-15 psi. They are MONSTERS and they don't call them Terminators for nothing. I've seen them with $2k in mods hit 600+ RWHP. They LOVE bolt on's. I have nothing but the highest respect for Cobra's. They may take a S/C on a Mustang to beat a LS1 but it'll take a fully built LS1 with an S/C running 13+ PSI to catch a KB Terminator. I'm not a Ford fan but i'd take a Cobra ANYDAY I've got a local guy with a close to stock(K&N panel replacement filter i think) '03 that wants to race my Vette. He should take me in the 1/4 mile. Now in a roll race it doesn't favor him at all the longer it goes, this is what Cobra guys have told me. They said after 110-120 mph the Vette's start to pull hard.

You aren't going to run 22psi on the street with a procharger...
