Default Quick question for you Firebird/Trans Am guys

I'm more of a Camaro guy so I know that the trim packages go in this order for Camaro's V-6 cars, Z-28, and then the SS's. What I was wondering is what the order of the trim packages are for the birds? I know that there are the V-6 cars and Trans-Am, Formies, Formula W-S6, W-S6, but I have no idea what order they all go in.

Firebird=v-6, Formula=v-8, Transam= Formula with more standard equip. plus ground effects and a bigger spoiler. WS6 can be added to either Formula or Transam and includes ram air hood, bigger wheels/tires and suspension upgrades. Firehawk is after market additions marketed through GM.

Not really super rare, 221 in '98; 175 in '99; 233 in '00 - so kinda rare but not super. Not offered in '01 & '02. There were 473 in '97 but I'm assuming you are asking about LS1 models

I like to think of it like this:

Camaro - Firebird (V6s)
Z28 - Formula (V8s)
SS - TransAm (flashy ground effects/spoilers)

Not really a SS is the same as a firehawk b/c there either a Z28 or T/A with SLP options. a Z28 would be the same as a T/A and formula just depending on options I guess. Fully loaded Z would probally be closer to a T/A while a base would be closer to a formula although there will always be a few exceptions

Why did the Birds have more trim packages than the Camaros. Seems to me like GM at that time thought of the Pontiac line as superior to the Chevy line. Just an observation.

It's always kind of been this way. Nothing against Camaro owners becuase I like Camaros, but they have always been the poor mans muscle car from the start. Pontiac has always kind of been the higher end, sort of more aesthetically pleasing.

I think the Camaro looks better but that is just IMO. But that's cool because it should save me a little money then

me being a trans am girl... ive always known trans ams to have more appeal then the camaro, or maybe its just me, but i thought the trans am looks were more aggressive and in your face. it sits a bit more stout with the Ram Air hood too.

i like camaros no doubt, but ive always thought the 98+ maros resembled chrysler concordes from the front.
