Default Is the WS6 air lid diffrent from Base TA?

1. I am getting a ram air hood for my TA. Is the WS6 ram air box diffrent from the stock on my TA.

2. If yes, would an aftermarket SLP air lid flow better or the WS6 Ram air box, or do they make an aftermarket ram air box for WS6's?

The lid is the same. The lower airbox on the WS6 cars are taller/tilted back to allow more air in.

Peace,
Craig.

Jus' stick with your MTI lid. The base of the lid is larger in a WS6 than a regular Trans Am I believe.

So if you put an aftermarket lid on, than you seise to gain any extra airflow with the ram air hood over a base hood?

Also, as know when you order your air lids, you choose between 1998 - 2000 and 2001-2002. Is there actually any diffrence between the years?

Ok, a lid will gain on either one the same. The stock lid is a huge POS, it can be on top of a rocket engine and still suck *****.

The LOWER air box is tilted back so the opening is a little more. If you did the free ram air mod than this is almost pointless.

I finally found a pic of the WS6 lower box:

The 98-00 lids and 00-02 lids are not different at all, on the 00-02 cars you need to buy a breather filter because the smog pumps have a 3/4" hose coming off the right side of your stock lid. SLP has a lid with a provision for it but all other brands just make you buy a 3/4" K&N breather filter for the end of that tube.
98-00 cars smog pumps were sucking up water and breaking, so in 2000 GM made the inlet tube go to the airbox.

Peace,
Craig.

You need a WS-6 base. The lid is the same. Just get a MTi lid and the base from a wrecked WS-6 or buy it.

Not my pic, its a pic I found on the web...but thanks anyway.

The only lid with a provision for the AIR pump is the SLP one. Either don't buy it or order it as a 98-00 car. That way there is no hole.

Peace,
Craig.
