Default What is an "F1" Camaro?

I have a 1998 F1 Camaro. I don't exactly know what this means but searches that I have done indicate it resembles a "WS6" package for the trans am. It has an emblem on the console that says "GM Performance Parts Specialty Vehicle". As far as collector value - forget it! I have blueprinted the motor, different cam ( TPIS ZL11 w/ 1.8:1 HS)and heads, LT headers and all the suspension mods. It's a great street car with 380RWH @ 5400 and 390RWT @4800 and 300RWT from 2000 to 6000+.

The car has F1 emblems on the side and I have only seen 1 other. The original rear ratio was 2.73 - I've changed it to 3.73.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

i pulled this off another forum, here ya go.

The F1 Camaro was a dealer available option, you could order it from the dealer, aftermarket and have dealer install it or you could do it yourself.

It was stripes, ground effects, badges,CAI,exhaust, wheels. You could mix and match also.
