How often do u change your oil... i know it says u can go 6,000 miles but that just doesnt feel right to me... should i just do the regular 3,000 or go to 4500...or wait till the 6,000 mile mark? im running castrol syntec 5w30 right now if that means anything

My car has had Mobil 1 5w30 all 100k miles and the valvetrain still looks great. I'm not positive but I think the prev owner went 5000 between changes (light duty). I've switched to Pennzoil Platinum Syn 5W30 and I'll be doing 3000 mile intervals myself as I drive it a lot harder than the old man did.

I'm using the German Castrol 0W30 and changing it around the 4000 mile mark. I believe this is overkill, as the oil always still looks like new, but better safe than sorry.
I've heard from many of my fellow biker nuts (Kawasaki ZRX1100 - www.zrxoa.org) that changing a good synthetic oil that early is crazy and a waste of money, etc., but again old habits die hard.
Good luck w/ your decision. Just changing it within reason and keeping the oil topped off will keep your LS1 on the road for many miles of happy motoring.

Mine is a Daily Driver that I change either 2-3000 miles with Royal Purple synthetic . I change my oil early just because I get bored and my car is my girl Even when I ran Amsoil synthetic I went 3,000 between changes.
