Default Will it fit

Well I am finally going to be buying a WS9 hood and am picking it up bc its only 2 hours away and save 150 on shipping. But my question is will a stock base model hood fit in my car? I remember seeing a pic on here of it fitting but just wana make sure

i dont think it would but i havent tried. i would take the stock hood off befor you leave and put the new hood on when you get there. only takes about 20 minutes to put them on and adjust.

You have a TA that you are putting this on right? I would think that it should be a stock replacement hood, but I would also try it out before you take it home.

Where are you buying it from? I know of two companies selling a hood they call a WS9. U.S.Exotics I know offers a direct bolt on and vfn offers a bolt on or one that requires pins. Either should fit. That's a kick *** hood. I'm buying one this week. If only I lived so close to pick it up, but alas, I live in the frigid north.

You guys are not reading the question! He is asking if the stock hood will fit inside of his car, as in transporting it home after he buys and installs the ws9 at the location of purchase.

OP, I do not know for sure. I would think it would be difficult and you would need to remove the t-top to even begin stuffing it in. I would play it say and drive to the location without a hood and not have to worry about it.

Can't imagine it would fit, you could always measure though. Like someone else said, I would just take the hood off and put the new one one when you get there. And yes I know it will look dumb, but who gives a hoot??

I know driving around with no hood is not gonna help your mileage, but I would do it. If you are dead set on driving there and swapping hoods I would construct a cardboard template of your stock hood. Toss it in the car to see if it fits...that would be much easier than trying to wrangle that big steel stock hood. Just a sugestion

You can always take your T-tops off and put old hood on top instead

If the rear seats are put down and angled in...maybe. You could chance it, but I would just take the hood off like everyone else is saying. Measure the hood and the side to side in the trunk & back seat areas. Top to bottom shouldn't be a problem.

Thats the one I was bidding on, but it went up past what I wanted to spend, $585, so i let it slip away..he has auctions every other week so no rush. If you dont mind me asking, how much did you get yours for and how is the quality/fitment?

i paid $500... local pickup.

the quality & fitment are both good.... word to the wise.. bake the hood before you prep it... allow the gel-coat to settle. mine require a little surface work in a few places.. but i have never encountered a glass hood that didn't.

it looks/ fits as perfect as you could ask for. it came with OEM grilles in the packaging from the dealer.

What do you mean by bake the hood? I was going to put it on about 3-4 weeks before dropping it off for prep and paint

Open the hatch... might fit but I would't think so.

bake means get it hot.. like in a bake booth.

if you run it for 3-4 weeks that should be sufficient.. as long as you allow the car to get warm.

here's mine:
