Default Anything Wrong Washing My Car With hard Water?

I had a buddy tell me that it may not be good to use hard water from the spigot while washing your car. He taps into his water softener and uses soft water to wash his. Are there any negative effects of using hard water. I always dry my car every time I wash it.

depends on how hard the water actually is... if you have city waters its probably not bad but if you have your own well, its probably a good bit harder

i know with the hard water we have up here in minnesota, it has a very high iron content and leaves really bad water spots and can strip the wax off your car as well

hmmmm, we have city water here. Spotting isn't bad at all, even when you don't dry the cars. My wax always look pretty good too.

I have wicked hard water and don't have any problems. Yeah it will leave spots if you let it the water dry on it's own but so will soft water.

Just be glad you dont live in hawaii, This is the worst place I have ever been to in regards to water spots. The hard water is just full on crap so you dont want to let if dry on the car so it doesnt spot.
