Default Good price or Not???

There is a 1998 WS6 at a used car lot with 68K original miles. They are asking $8900.00 is that a good price?

Yes, it's a good price. Too good. I would instantly be suspicious. Make sure it's really a WS6 and not a clone, and more importantly, that it doesn't have a rebuilt title.

a4 or m6?

I would say that is a very good price and I would jump on it. It isn't rediculously though though. Make sure it doesn't have a rebuilt title, take it to a mechanic and body man before you buy.

It's an a4. I wish it what a m6. I was wrong about the miles. It only has 48K original miles. It's black exterior with grey interior. Here is the Vin if that helps:

Check the codes on the drivers side door...there you should find a code that reads WS6 if it really is one.

sounds like a good deal. have pics? 98s have the single exhaust... not a fan, but no big deal.

look at the door tag for code WS6. i was close to buying a 98 ws6 M6.. but went with my car instead... much better condition.

you could just get a regular T/A and be a lame *** poser like me.

I looked on CarFax & it came back as a
-1998 Pontiac Firebird Formula/Trans AM
-5.7L V8 PFI OHV
-Manufactured in Canada
Does this mean that it is not a WS6?

No, it doesn't.

Like you've been told already, look inside the driver's side door. You'll see a sticker that says "SERVICE PARTS IDENTIFIER" and will have a buttload of 3 digit codes. Look for WS6 in that list of codes. If it's there, it's a real one. If it's not there, it's a fake.

One more ? Is there anyway that the mileage could be in correct since it's digital?

They mileage is stored in the cluster, that could have been swapped out (look for scratches at the bottom of the plastic 'glass' that cover the gauges). Run a CARFAX aswell.

I'd offer 8 for the hell of it especially being a first year LS1 car. I personally wouldn't pay that, but it is a good price.

You can unhook the deal that actually counts the miles, so it just never counts. It's really simple on bikes, and I'm sure it's not that hard on a car. FYI
