Does anyone know where the vin # is stamped on the block???? I bought a 5.3L engine and I put it in my jeep wrangler and now i am trying to figure out what it came out of...the guy I bought it from says it came out of an 05 silverado but I would like to know for sure so I can order correct parts for the swap...like if the motor had egr, AIR, ect.

All your gonna find is a casting number. Won't be speciffic unless you luck out and the casting is a one year piece.

Last six digits are stamped in dox matrix form on the drivers side of the block on the vertical part where the trans bolts to.
