I had a 228/232 cam and stage 2 tea heads on a stock converter and it drove good just shifted hard into drive, but it went 11.9's is the trex that much bigger where it would make a difference?

This is not the point of my post. I know what a converter does but i dont want to buy one, i have a th400 in my race car that will go in this one when i have money for the glide till then i want a nice camin car and dont want to wast money on a converter because i dont beat on the car. Will it drive/shift fine or will it blow up the trans?

exactly big cam = dog in low rpm's and also if its your daily why the hell would you want a T-rex in it anyway, you claim to have a race car already and your already in the 11.9x's?
edit, read the part were you have the cam laying around.. Was it in your race car?

sell the cam to me i have a 4k stall i'm ready for it!
i dont think u would enjoy the ride, those cams are all top end, i would think the car would surge and not want to move when ur dd'ing it.

These guys are trying to help you. What they are saying is correct. A T Rex with factory converter is going so surge and drive horrible down low, that is not what you want especially for a DD. Either buy a stall or a new cam, or put that cam in with the factory stall so we can say "I told you so".

you will definitely need a stall bro!!! driving a TREX on a stock stall is just a waste of money.. and will more than likely run like ****.. so then youll get your a$$ probably handed to you by a guy with a verter and 224 cam cuz he had a good all around setup. then some guy will post saying he spanked a T-REX cammed car...DONT BE THAT GUY!!!

Seems to me like a lot of work to do just to have the car be very annoying to drive, probably will even slow it down except on the interstate. You can go with a larger than stock cam on a stock converter, just not THAT big.

I understand your question and why it is killing you to look at a T-Rex just laying there, but it's too big to work properly with a stock stall. Oh, it'll run and it shouldn't hurt the tranny, but it'll be a pig off the line and like stated above buck and jerk no matter how good your tuner is. That is a m6 or high stall cam.
