Horsepower and Torque Ratings
Can anyone tell me what the horsepower and torque ratings are on the 2002 Camaro Z28 and at what rpm's this would be for a stock car.
Thanks

I found on NHRA.com they have their ratings for stock cars. My 02 Z28 was rated on there at 349hp. Didn't mention an rpm, but probably at the stock rev limiter I would guess wherever that is, 6200? BTW gm rated my car at 310.

here's where I found it, not sure if I read it right....

stock, most will peak around the 5500 rpm range for HP and make their torque peak at about 4k rpm.
As for numbers, transmission, age and maintenance will play a large impact for the dyno numbers. Most will pull at or around give or take 10% of the GM Brochure numbers AT the wheels.
A LS1 is an LS1 is an Ls1 is our motto around here.
My car in particular made 298HP and 315 ft/lb of torque at the wheels on the dyno for a bone stock car at 8 years old. Book says 305HP and 325ft/lb. If you think the m6 transmission would only rob 6 hp of power and 10ft/lb from the engine, you've given WAY too much credit to the efficiency of the m6. There's roughly a 15%-20% power loss through the whole drivetrain, slightly more for the auto transmission.

Gm said 310 wich is bs and everyone knows it. what ive heard the most is 335hp and 345tq at around 4500rpm. i have never seen an ls1 make less than 300 on the dyno which says it has more than 310, i would stick closer to the 335 mark and thats what i tell ppl when they ask me

The 01-02 fbodies have the LS6 manifold stock which would help, but the horsepower increase for the supposed RAM AIR is BS. You have to be going pretty damn fast for it to actually take effect. In my opinion the WS6 is just a hood and rims really and has the same exact power as the base TA. As for the SS, I've never really looked at the intake duct on the hood to see if it's anymore functional than the WS6s. Figure it would be the same thing just about. The one thing I have noticed though is the intake tract on my WS6 (upper radiator shroud that the intake latches to) is much wider than on my 99. I figure that would help, but wouldn't do anything drastic.

also the t/a camaro ls1 has closer to three fourty five stock because the only difference between it and corvette is minor computer and different exhaust manifolds. corvette is rated at three fifty

I forgot about the cams being a hair smaller, although it was the same cam GM put into the LQ-series trucks if I remember correctly. Guess it made them more cost effective. Just like the plastic gears in the headlights, lol.
As for the RAM AIR, there is a baffle covering behind both nostrils that prevents any kind of ram air effect at all on stock application. Unless you saw-zaw the baffle out then seal the airboxbox to the hood. There are kits out there for it, but it's kind of tough to dyno a ram air effect unless it's done in a wind tunnel or something along those lines. I do agree that it does deliver a little colder air though.
